SoundBytes vol.2 2025

At SoundBytes vol.2 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, I will perform a set of my pieces for solo laptop, including my first piece using digital sampling, A Robert Johnson Sampler, from 1987; WakeUp, a mashup of two rock-a-billy tunes from the 1950s sung by the Everly Brothers; O Brother! a deconstruction of a couple of folks songs sung by my younger brother, and Messages, a tribute to my late wife, whose grace in her acceptance of her mortality is exposed in a series of quotidian phone messages. The concert will end with Sanctus, a 1990 film by experimental filmmaker Barbara Hammer, populated by x-ray movies of skeletons drinking, shaving, applying lipstick and playing trumpets.
