The conference is themed into 5 topics, each looked at through the lens of both insects-for-food and insects-for-feed:
Blocks of presentations will be closed off with panel discussions and a poster session will be available throughout the event. During coffee and lunch breaks, attendees will have the opportunity to network and visit the exhibition booths.

AFFIA is an industry association representing players from across the insect sector value-chain, including; manufacturers, distributors, traders, processors, researchers and regulators. With distribution from Israel to China & Australia and a membership of 36 in both food & feed, AFFIA represents approximatively 40% of all insect-related players in Asia.
Established in 2016, AFFIA and its members believe that for the global food chain to be sustainable, ethical and efficient, it needs to integrate insects as a source of nutrients for human food and animal feed. With this shared passion, AFFIA aims to promote entomoculture and entomophagy both regionally and internationally, support national initiatives and solve challenges, as well as represent Asia in the global insect industry.
As part of the Global Roundtable for Insect Agriculture (GRIA), AFFIA works closely with the Australian IPAA, the European IPIFF and the American NACIA on issues affecting the wider insect industry, so has a truly global reach.
For the first time, the AII&RF is co-organized this year with Universiti Malaya.
Universiti Malaya is Malaysia's oldest public university and one of the most prestigious in Asia. Established in 1905 as a medical school, it has evolved into a leading institution excelling in research, innovation, and academic excellence. The Faculty of Science Universiti Malaya will provide an ideal setting for AII&RF 2025. As one of the oldest faculties in UM, the Faculty of Science has a rich history of academic excellence and research innovation. For many years, the faculty has been at the forefront of insect research, with a particular focus on insect farming and its potential as a sustainable food and feed source.
The Faculty of Science is located on the main UM campus in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The campus provides a tranquil and conducive environment for learning and collaboration. The Faculty is easily accessible by public transport and is well-connected in the city of Kuala Lumpur. From KLIA 1 / 2 International Airport, taking a taxi or a grab is recommended. For taxis, please buy coupons at designated taxi stands within or outside the arrival areas. Please be aware of taxi tours operating outside of the arrival areas. They tend to charge exorbitantly. Estimated rates of taxis or Grab are roughly between RM 80 and RM 150 depending on vehicle type. The cost of toll roads is at the charge of the customer.
There is also a direct airport train (KLIA Express) that connects KLIA 1 / 2 to KL Sentral. One way fare is RM 55.00 / adult.
