YUNDI Li (李云迪), the youngest winner of the Chopin International Piano Competition, finally announced his Kuala Lumpur solo recital on Tuesday, 24 June, 2025, to perform at Malaysia’s most prestige and first purposely-built classical concert hall – Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS, KLCC. After 13 years of await, Malaysian fans will finally welcome YUNDI and his Mozart World Tour solo recital. We believe this will be one of the most anticipated piano concerts of the year.
As the first Chinese pianist to win the International Chopin Piano Competition – and the youngest ever to do so – YUNDI is also the first Chinese artist signed by the legendary classical label Deutsche Grammophon. Over the past 25 years, he has remained at the forefront of the global classical piano scene, driven by an enduring passion to explore the beauty of music.
“I want to return to my roots,” he said, as Mozart has been the wellspring of his musical inspiration. “I was captivated by Mozart’s music when I was just seven.” Through his interpretation, YUNDI hopes to let audiences worldwide experience again “the genius of the most exquisite composer, with his colourful and deeply human melodies.” This calling led him back to the Mozart Hall in Salzburg to record, inviting listeners to journey through Mozart’s musical landscapes – a realm closest to YUNDI's own artistic heart.
YUNDI’s Mozart sonata project 1 world tour began in Australia and has since passed through cities historically linked to Mozart, such as Vienna, Paris, Munich, Frankfurt, Cologne, and Berlin. Last year, YUNDI also released a namesake promotional album, making the tour especially commemorative. His music has resonated across continents, sparking a global classical wave and leaving an indelible artistic mark.
He has returned to the world’s most iconic venues – Vienna’s Musikverein, the Sydney Opera House, New York’s Carnegie Hall – and will soon grace Malaysia’s Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS. His tour spans the globe, from Japan’s Mito, Fuji, Tokyo, Osaka, Kodaira, and Sapporo to Singapore, and from Freiburg, Heilbronn, Reutlingen, Sigmaringen, Göttingen, Hanau, Würzburg, Bad Neustadt, and Frankfurt to Bamberg, Vienna, Munich, Paris, Berlin, Offenbach, Düsseldorf, Basel, Essen, Cologne, and Bremen. Every city has been ignited by his music, with full-house performances and a renewed fervor for classical music.
