CRACKS
A solo dance-theatre work by Christina Kyriazidi & Smári Gudmundson. A woman on stage, unraveling. Her voice, her body, her memory—fractured. From these cracks, other women emerge: a refugee adrift in foreign lands, Antigone walking toward her tomb, Medea haunted by her own hands, Phaedra trembling with forbidden desire, and the aching solitude of Cocteau’s Human Voice. Each fragment is a pulse in the collective memory of womanhood—a shifting constellation of love, power, and death.
CRACKS is a visceral composition of movement, language, and sound, a solo performance that blurs the boundaries between the personal and the archetypal. The performer shifts between identities and tongues (Greek, Spanish, French, German), her voice splintering into poetry, song, cry, and silence. Narrative breaks down. Stories echo, overlap, dissolve. This is not one woman’s tale—it is all of them. A body inhabited by countless voices. A plunge into the subconscious where memory and myth collide. Where
madness dances with lucidity. Where what is broken reveals what has always been burning underneath.
Featuring original poetry by Christina Kyriazidi and music by Smári
Gudmundson, CRACKS is a haunting, multilingual journey through the light and darkness of the female soul.
Event held under the patronage of the Centrum Wielokulturowe w Krakowie operated by the IB Polska Foundation.
Partners: Centrum Kultury Dworek Białoprądnicki, The City of Krakow.
