Mitäs Mitäs Mitäs Festival 2025

Mitäs Mitäs Mitäs is an open-minded and boundary-breaking celebration of the arts which will be organized for the tenth time on July 4-6 2025 at Urjala's Nuutajärvi. At Mitäs you can see Finland's most famous electronic music DJs and alternative bands that break genre boundaries. In addition to alternative music and electronic music the festival has an extensive workshop program and multi-arts program which includes e.g. circus theatre films performances and dance.

The already published performers include e.g. A cult band known for their self-made instruments a Cirque du Soleil award-winning contemporary circus collective that filled the stands in Japan the most interesting artists of the Finnish indie scene and a party of electronic music until sunrise:

The program will grow abundantly during the spring and at the coming summer's festival we will see a total of nearly 100 program numbers which as usual include plenty of alternative bands machine music cross-art performances and a participatory program. 

A Celebration of Alternative Arts: Surprising Performances and an Interactive Festival Atmosphere

True to its name Mitäs Mitäs Mitäs sparks curiosity and invites open-mindedness: a question to which every festival-goer has their own answer. Freedom wonder and surprise are the festival’s core themes—offering visitors the chance to experience art in their own way free from predefined boundaries. Here everyone is free to be themselves think creatively and express without restraint.

The festival emphasizes participation and full engagement whether through workshops community art projects or open-stage performances produced by the attendees themselves. Its mission is to blend interdisciplinarity with community spirit while providing a platform for lesser-known artists. This open and experimental approach has helped Mitäs Mitäs Mitäs build a reputation as a unique and inclusive arts event where visitors play an active role in shaping their festival experience.

One of Mitäs's five performance stages is dedicated to the festival guests' own performances. Avolava Open Stage has musical instruments and a sound system for spontaneous gigs theater performances poetry recitals etc. at the disposal of festival guests. In addition to the open stage we offer festival guests free space to organize their own program in the festival area. In past years guests have organized Good mood satanist yard games a walking praise kiosk pop-up jams tit flashmob etc. At Mitäs the visitor is an active and creative self-expressor and party maker. Visitors gets to participate in numerous workshops community artworks participatory presentations and performances.

The Mitäs Mitäs Mitäs Festival was born in 2015 when the original organizing team Circus Supina sought new adventures and multidisciplinary experiences. From 2010 to 2014 Circus Supina had organized circus spectacles in Suodenniemi combining contemporary circus live music theater and dance into immersive narrative-driven performances. When a new venue was discovered in Urjala on a field owned by the father of two brothers the 10-member Circus Supina team invited artists from various disciplines to create the first-ever Mitäs Mitäs Mitäs Festival.

Initially a one-day event with 14 program numbers it has since grown into a three-day festival featuring over 100 performances. The initial crowd of 300 celebrants has evolved into a thriving community now attracting thousands of art lovers and creators over the years.

Nuutajärvi is conveniently located in the centre of everything. From Tampere you will get there in less than an hour from Turku a little over an hour and from Helsinki in a couple of hours. From further away you can get there in a few hours too! Address is Nuutajärventie 453, 31160 Urjala.

Your festival ticket includes free camping. So once you arrive set up your tent on the campground forget about having to go home early and enjoy the event into the early hours!

Traveling from abroad? Helsinki and Turku can be conveniently reached by boat (Eckeröline Silja line Viking) or by plane. After that the easiest way is to hop on the festival bus and enjoy the ride to Mitäs. Festival buses take you to Mitäs from Tampere Turku and Helsinki. Bus tickets will go on sale in the spring of 2025. You can also drive to the festival the parking site is located right next to the festival area about 500m away.

The diverse and surprising multi-arts program the mystical and inspiring milieu and the warm encounters between people create a communal celebration of creativity in the scenic Mitäs-land.
