Meet & Greet w/ Nyx Günther & Weronika Trojańska

We invite you to the first autumn Meet & Greet where you will have the opportunity to personally meet our new artists-in-residence Nyx Günther and Weronika Trojańska.
During the evening they will introduce their artistic practice share some of their most interesting projects and talk more about what they plan to work on during their two-month residency. The event is open not only to those who wish to learn more about their work but also to everyone who would like to spend a pleasant evening in the creative atmosphere of Šopa Gallery.

We start on September 11 at 6:00 PM in Šopa Gallery.
Nyx Günther (DE) is an up and coming multimedia artist from Munich. Coming from a
background based in IT and technology she specializes in areas such as graphics programming code art simulations and interactive and game-art. With this approach she utilizes technology as an artistic medium which presents an interface between personal identities and collective ones on a societal level.

Weronika Trojańska (PL) is an interdisciplinary artist working with sound embodiment and the politics of appropriation. Working between performance and sound installation she explores the psychoacoustics of the human body—the musicality of speech silence and laughter—and how these shape social identity. She often invites others into her process creating shared spaces that question the roles of artist audience and artwork. 
The residency program is supported using public funding by the Slovak Arts Council. The Slovak Arts Council is the main partner of this project. The project was also supported by the City of Košice and the Košice Self-Governing Region. 
The residency of Nyx Günther is organized in collaboration with Schafhof – European Art Forum Upper Bavaria. The residency of Weronika Trojańska is organized thanks to the partnership with the residency centre AIR Wro.
