Background:
The Vietnam War, a conflict deeply rooted in the Cold War's ideological tensions, saw Australia, alongside the United States, deploying military personnel to support South Vietnam against communist North Vietnam. The war's duration, from 1962 to 1975, and its controversial nature, with many questioning the Australian involvement, significantly impacted the veterans' experiences.

From 1962 to 1973, more than 60,000 Australians served in the Vietnam War. 523 died as a result of the war and almost 2,400 were wounded. There were widespread protests about this war and sadly to returning soldiers involuntarily conscripted
