Oyunun konusu, herkesin bildiği "Kim yaptı?" hikâyesidir. Oyunda, malikânede işlenen cinayeti araştırmaya gelen bir müfettiş, katili bulmaya çalışıyor. Tabi bu oyun, gösteri sırasında yığınla şanssızlık yaşayan ve son derece talihsiz olan amatör bir tiyatro topluluğunca oynanmaya çalışılınca tüm oyun yoldan çıkıyor. Ekibin finale ulaşma çabalarını, güldürücü bir temayla seyircinin beğenisine sunulmaktadır.
