Mushroom Foray at Seven Islands

Curious about the fascinating world of fungi? Join us for a mushroom-focused program led by a volunteer mycologist who will introduce you to the diversity, ecology, and identification of mushrooms found at Seven Islands. We’ll begin with a presentation inside the Bluebird Barn, followed by a guided walk through the park to search for and observe mushrooms in their natural habitat. This is a great opportunity to learn from an expert and deepen your appreciation for these often-overlooked organisms.

This program is recommended for ages 10 and up. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 1:00 PM. Be prepared to walk approximately 3 miles on a mix of paved and natural surfaces. The program will last around 3 hours, beginning with an indoor presentation and followed by an interpretive hike.

The cost of this program is $15.00 per participant.

Please come prepared with sturdy walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and a water bottle. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals. Participants are welcome to bring a notebook or camera for field observations.
