Friday Night Family Firefly Walk

Experience the magic of a summer evening at Seven Islands State Birding Park during our Friday Night Family Firefly Hike! Discover the science behind fireflies and why they light up the night through fun, family-friendly activities. We will begin with kid's crafts, games, and stories at the outdoor classroom. As dusk falls, we’ll head out on a short hike to watch for fireflies and explore their glowing world.

This program is recommended for families with children ages 5 and up. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 8:00 PM. Be prepared to walk approximately 2 miles over mostly paved surfaces with a short stretch of natural trail. For more details about the route, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria.

The cost for this program is $15 for adults and $8 for kids ages 6-12. Kids under 6 are free.

Please bring flashlights with red filters (if possible), good walking shoes, and a water bottle. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
