Der als „Kraftpaket von einem Spieler“ (Limelight Magazine) gepriesene Pianist Sergey Belyavsky ist für sein umfangreiches und vielfältiges Repertoire bekannt, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf Kompositionen des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts liegt. Ihm wird eine „außergewöhnliche Ausdrucksintelligenz“ nachgesagt und er wurde als „einer der besten Pianisten der Welt“ bezeichnet.
Er ist als Solist in Konzertsälen wie der Victoria Concert Hall (Genf), der Abravanel Hall (Salt Lake City), dem Gewandhaus (Leipzig), der Carnegie Hall (New York City) und vielen anderen aufgetreten.
