Stand-up Comedy Workshop Series

COMEDIANS: Come out to Scruffy City Hall at 6pm on Wednesdays for a limited comedy writing, performing, and booking workshop series, offered by True Grit Comedy.

Topics include:
Choosing a topic and working up a premise
Economy of words and how to develop a "tight 5" set
Engaging your audience and handling hecklers
Booking and promotion practices and guidance

This is a limited class series. RSVP is not required, but space may be limited.

Whether you're a long-time performer who just wants to polish up a bit, new to doing comedy and want to learn all you can, or any experience level in between - this is the spot to grow 🌱

Course will be led by Beth Tomkins, long-time producer and host of SPRINGBOARD open mic co.edy night at Scruffy, joint winner for Best Comedian in the 2024 Blank Newspaper Knoxville's Finest Readers Poll, actively touring comic and occasional podcast guest.

This event precedes the weekly SPRINGBOARD mic, which has signups starting at 7:30pm at Scruffy City Hall each Wednesday.
