The 3 of Us is a compelling dramedy about a single mother juggling the chaos of caring for both her spirited daughter and her unpredictable mother. Their antics push her to the brink, as life becomes an overwhelming balancing act.
Between court appearances and visits to a psychiatrist, the pressure keeps mounting-until an unexpected connection with her next-door neighbor offers a glimmer of normalcy and hope.
This two-act play features six characters and includes one intermission.
Cast :
Karine Dion
Benjamin Hatcher
Robert Di Loreto
Hazel Nugent
Karen Cromar
Glen Bowser
Karine Dion, in the role of mother Marion MacKenzie, performs with skill and intensity, trying to hold her crumbling family together. Karen Cromar is brilliant as Gran, a crochety grandmother, with tightly permed hair and an acid tongue that produces some hilarious zingers. And Hazel Nugent is Lisa MacKenzie, a rebellious, narcissistic teenager who is hard-to-love.

This play held me in thrall right up to the end. The script is inspired and the acting compelling. We are released only when the final lines are spoken between Marion and Dave.

Caught the matinee yesterday and was blown away. The script was brilliant plus the actors pulled it off without a hitch. Personally I thought Gran stole the show.
