When Language and Culture Create Opportunities for Learning

Dr. Audra Skukauskaitė (LCC class of 1996, English Language and Literature) is a Professor for qualitative research methodologies at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida. Audra had started with LCC in Panevėžys in 1991 before it moved to Klaipėda in 1992. Graduating in 1996 with an “equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree” not yet recognize by the Lithuanian government, she was invited to pursue her Master’s at Fresno Pacific University. Audra returned to LCC in 1998 and taught Literature and TESOL courses before setting off for Ph.D. studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Since earning her Ph.D. in 2006, Audra has been teaching research methodologies in Texas and Florida and has collaborated with multiple Lithuanian universities to expand qualitative methodology opportunities in Lithuania. She is an editor of two books, author of many scholarly publications, and an expert reviewer for the Lithuanian Research Council, the U.S. National Science Foundation, and many academic journals. Audra’s scholarship focuses on research pedagogies and invention education.
