6/26/25 UPDATE: Thank you to Anne & Julie for making us aware that the Paddling Center has closed, making rentals at Shingle Creek no longer an option. We have changed this to a Bring Your Own Boat event. We'll do our best to find a September location where rentals are available.

All experience levels are welcome on this trip! For experienced kayakers, we'll have a guide going a little faster and a little farther.
For brand-new kayakers or anyone that just wants to have a light paddle, we'll have a guide bring up the rear at a slower pace with a slightly shorter trip. Don't worry, we'll give you all needed instructions.
There is no way to get lost here, so you can go at your own pace and stay with the group or explore on your own.

What to bring:
Anything you need to be comfortable on the water
- A water bottle (I suggest a reusable water bottle, as they are less likely to fall out of the kayak and become litter)
- Wear clothes that can get wet. It's unlikely that you will fall out of your boat, but things can get really splashy.
- Wear water shoes rather than flipflops. It's unlikely that you'll need to get out of the boat, but occasionally, we need to pull boats over a downed tree in shallow water. Flip flops tend to get lost or sucked into sand/mud.
- A way to protect your phone, if you are going to use it for pictures on the water. Again, it's unlikely that you will be in a situation where your phone will be in the water, but better safe than sorry.
- Sunscreen, hat, sun shirt, bug spray, etc...
