Swift Saunter

Join us for a swift saunter around Kirriemuir town centre and learn more about this beautiful species and why they visit Kirriemuir each summer.

Starting from our Nature Detectives Swift Sign outside Kirriemuir Library, we’ll have a gentle walk and talk around the town centre, with some of our knowledgeable volunteers sharing what they know about these amazing creatures who visit us each summer, and how we can help them in Kirriemuir. If we’re lucky enough we’ll witness a screaming party of swifts flying overhead.

The Swift Saunter walk is suitable for anyone who wants to discover more about the local birds in Kirriemuir, however some parts of the route may be unsuitable for wheelchair users. Please contact us in advance if you have any accessibility concerns.

You’re welcome to bring binoculars if you own a pair, and dress for the weather conditions on the day. A travel mug of tea or coffee might be a good idea too!
