Wetland Wander at Juanita Bay Park - July 31st

Do you feel lucky to live near beautiful Lake Washington, and want to know more about the animals and plants that call it home? Now is your chance to get to know your non-human neighbors a bit better!

Join City of Kirkland naturalists as we explore the wetlands at Juanita Bay Park! Together we’ll learn about the plants and animals that thrive and survive here, the secret struggles between invasive and native species, and the history of the bay and the way it impacts both humans and animals.

Register now, as space is limited to 15 participants.

Things to know:

• This event will be targeted to ages 16 and up. Younger ages are welcome, but they must attend with a guardian.
• We will meet at the Juanita Bay parking lot across from Fire Station 21. Consider carpooling to save resources and ensure a parking place.
• Please do not bring dogs or other pets. Dogs can disrupt wildlife and reduce our chances to see interesting things!
• Total distance traveled will be approximately 1 mile across paved paths and a wooden boardwalk. This trail is considered wheelchair accessible, however please be advised that there are some uneven areas of pavement and boardwalk.

What to bring:

• Good walking shoes
• Water
• Sun protection
• A sense of wonder and an adventurous spirit!
