GoBag 101 Workshop

Is an engaging and practical emergency preparedness workshop designed to help individuals, families, and community groups build their own personalized emergency "GoBag." Delivered by emergency management specialists, the program empowers participants with the knowledge and tools to prepare for sudden disasters and emergencies.

Participants learn about common emergency scenarios (natural disasters, evacuations, power outages, etc.), FEMA's Community Lifelines framework, and the critical role a GoBag plays in readiness and survival.

Attendees receive step-by-step instructions on assembling their own GoBag using the Minimum Survival Standard (MSS) checklist developed by industry professionals.

The workshop is designed to be fun, engaging, and educational, with real-time Q&A, group discussions, and scenario-based examples that make the experience relatable and memorable.

Each participant leaves with resources, a recommended GoBag supply list, and access to follow-up support. In some sessions, attendees may even receive a GoBag starter kit as a gift.

Organizations are encouraged to schedule future workshops for their wider teams, creating a ripple effect of community resilience.
