Crop Swap 88 + tomato tasting and seed saving
For after the usual CropSwap.....
• bring your best, ripe tomato of your favourite variety/varieties for seed saving
• bring some of your favourite tomatoes for cutting up and tasting
• I will provide paper towel, labels etc for the seed saving. I will gather all the labelled finished samples for sharing out again at sowing time.
• if I gave you some of my tomato seedlings, please do bring at least one of them to save the seeds.
Come along to our March CropSwap as we celebrate small, local gatherings, in the spirit of community, friendship, joy and sharing.
Please do not come if you are unwell.
As usual, bring anything you have that is to do with food..... growing, cooking, eating, preserving, composting, learning.... books, tools, plants, garden produce, kitchen creations, animal manures, seeds, jars, netting, bean poles, dumpster doings, or skills like tool sharpening, fence weaving etc etc. You don't have to bring a lot but you can still take a lot!
- See you in my driveway, or undercover if it's wet.
- Please park close to the car in front, to fit everyone in and only park on my side of the street, to avoid upsetting the neighbours. PLEASE OBSERVE THE CAR FREE SPACE MARKED WITH ROPE AND BOLLARDS, TO ALLOW CARS IN STREET TO PULL OVER AND LET OTHER CARS PASS BY.
- Please come at 10.45, in plenty of time to start our sharing at 11am sharp!
- Set your wares on my tables. Please leave time for this.
- Check out what else is on the tables and chat to the regulars and newbies.
-Then we each explain what we have brought.... I love this bit as everyone has a story.
- I supply teas and coffees and home made biscuits or cake but you are welcome to bring something too, as your sharing.
- Children are wonderfully welcome but it is near the road. NO DOGS.
- It is heaps of fun and has just the loveliest vibes.
See you there!
