An Evening with Local Authors Denise Latham & William Goyette

Join us for a special literary event featuring two incredible local talents! Settle into your seat for an evening of storytelling, conversation, and behind-the-scenes insight into the writing lives of Denise Latham and William Goyette.

• Denise Latham writes heartwarming and emotionally rich small-town romance
• Her main series is Windsor Peak, which is set in a small town and explores themes of family, healing, and second chances.
• Her debut in that series is Coming Home (2023), which features a returning soldier, his teenage son, and a romance with a teacher — and it explicitly deals with PTSD and the challenges of reintegration.
• She also has a sub-series, Windsor Peak: The Monahans, focused on workplace romance: Healing Promise (2025) is about a nurse and an oncology doctor finding connection and healing.
• Denise draws partly on her own life: she’s an Army wife (retired), and that experience informs her writing about military life and post-service hardship.

• Denise’s work is a blend of romance and serious real-world issues.
• Her stories are emotionally grounded (“heartwarming novels that ... pull on the heartstrings” per her bio).
• Her military connection gives her a strong, personal perspective on the challenges veterans face.

• William J. Goyette is a thriller / crime fiction author
• His flagship series features Detective Jake Hawksworth. His first novel, In Our Blood: A Jake Hawksworth Thriller, is a crime thriller involving investigation, past trauma, and moral complexity.
• The next book in that series is Phobia (2025), in which a phobia therapy group becomes the center of a deadly mystery, and the investigation ties into psychological horror / suspense elements (even referencing H.P. Lovecraft in its premise).
• He also wrote a stand-alone thriller, This Guy Walks Into a Bar, which is very much in the suspense / crime thriller vein: ghostwriting, mafia ties, M**der, betrayal, and high stakes.
• His influences include Dennis Lehane, Scott Turow, Jo Nesbø — heavyweights in crime and psychological suspense.

• William writes fast-paced, tension-filled thrillers with strong procedural elements.
• His detective, Jake Hawksworth, is relatable (“everyman,” not a super cop), which can make for a grounded but thrilling narrative.
• He blends crime with psychological suspense, as his novel Phobia suggests — themes of fear, trauma, and mental health are part of his storytelling.
