One of the founding members of Bristol legends Massive Attack, Daddy G's roots and influence run deeper than most in the world of music. As part of the Wild Bunch, he and fellow members such as Nellee Hooper, Tricky, 3D and DJ Milo were in no small part responsible for the import of hip hop, electro and soul into soundsystem culture during the mid 80s, mixing up styles alongside MCs, artists and dancers - influencing everyone that came after them.
As they morphed into Massive Attack, Mushroom and frequent collaborators such as reggae legend Horace Andy, Shara Nelson and more helped shape the sound of UK urban music in the early 90s with the groundbreaking debut "Blue Lines" - setting the blueprint for generations to come. Following albums "Protection" and "Mezzanine" are the sound of UK post-club culture distilled and are still winning fans today.
As a DJ, Daddy G has travelled the globe, playing clubs, festivals and stadiums on every continent with an eclectic selection of reggae, dub, dancehall, breaks, jungle and whatever else works the dancefloor to a frenzy.
Without doubt a true legend, we're thrilled to invite him to Social for his debut Hull show. This will be massive!
