Join us for the Barony of Nordwache’s Academia (Day of Arts and Sciences), on Saturday August 23, 2025. Come take some classes, learn new things, and enjoy a fun day with your friends. A list of classes will be posted in the Facebook event listing as the event gets closer.

EVENT REGISTRATION: There is no registration cost for this event. All attendees are guests of the Barony. If you are feeling generous, donations will be accepted at the door.
A&S COMPETITION: Baronial Arts and Science Competition Themes for Academia. The following themes have been declared by Her Excellency Siri for this event:
Baronial Championship Adult – Growth.
Children’s Championship (12 years and younger) – Growth.
Throw the theme out the window. Item must have been made within 90 days of event.
Cooking – Sweet. Documentation required for ingredients.
Brewing – Something New to You.
Bardic – Learning.

SITE INFORMATION: We will be in Burris Park again this year. It’s a beautiful park with lots of shade. Most classes will take place indoors in the air-conditioned multipurpose room. There is also an area reserved for classes that are required to be outdoors. The multipurpose room has a small kitchen for cooking, brewing, or other classes that need water, a sink and/or stove.

DIRECTIONS: If you use Google Maps, enter “Burris Park” and choose the one in Kingsburg. However, be aware that the park is not located in the city of Kingsburg. It is located out in the county between Kingsburg and Hanford.
From the South: take CA- 99 towards Kingsburg. Take CA-99 N Follow CA-99 N to exit 97. Take exit 97 to merge onto CA-198 W toward Hanford/Lemoore. Turn right onto 6th Ave (signs for Burris Park), Turn left onto Clinton Ave.
From the North: take CA- 99 towards Kingsburg. Follow CA-99 S to Ave 394. Take exit 111 from CA-99 S, continue onto Ave 394 (signs for Mendocino Ave/Avenue 394), Turn right onto Rd 12, Turn right onto Avenue 384/Boston Ave, Turn left onto N 5 1/2 Ave, Turn right onto Benecia Ave, Continue onto N 6th Ave, Turn right onto Clinton Ave.
Or: From the North: take CA- 41 towards Lemoore. Use the left lane to take the ramp onto CA-198 E/Hwy 198 E. Turn left onto 6th Ave (signs for Burris Park/Kingsburg). Turn left onto Clinton Ave.
The park also houses a Kings County Fire department, Kings County Museum, and Sportsman’s Club. Anyone of those will come up through google maps for the address of 6500 Clinton Ave, Kingsburg, CA 93631.
