Harker Heights High School Red Brigade to Host First Annual “Drums in The Heartland” Percussion Contest
Harker Heights, TX — The Harker Heights High School Red Brigade is proud to announce the first annual "Drums in The Heartland" percussion contest, set to take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Killeen ISD’s Joseph L. Searles Stadium in Killeen, Texas.
This inaugural event will bring together 11 high school percussion ensembles from across the region to showcase their talent, precision, and passion for the marching arts. "Drums in The Heartland" aims to highlight the artistry and athleticism of competitive percussion performance, while fostering camaraderie and school spirit.
“We are thrilled to launch this new tradition,” said Eric Skinner, Director of Bands at Harker Heights High School. “Drums in The Heartland gives our students—and those from visiting programs—a platform to perform, compete, and grow through the power of music and teamwork.”
Gates will open at 10:00 am, with performances beginning shortly thereafter at 11:00. Tickets will be available at the gate and online at :
