571st Re-Flagging and Organizational Day

On behalf of Major Kevin Zuniga, current commander of C Co 2-227th “Longhorn Dustoff” (Formerly 571st Med Det),

You are cordially invited to the Re-Flagging ceremony as the unit transitions to Fox Company (AA), 3-227th Assault Helicopter Battalion - Medevac (AHB-M).

This ceremony will occur inside Hangar 7027 on Yoakum-Defrenn Army Heliport of Fort Hood, Texas. (Ceremony begins at 1030 CST) This is a public event but will take place on Fort Hood, so all visitors must register at the Visitor Center before entering the base. Please allot extra time for this as the process can take upwards of 30 minutes.

Following the Re-Flagging, we will move to hangar 7012 where there will be an Organizational Day for current and former members, families and friends of the 571st. We will dedicate the Legacy Room, and have several interactive events for all ages.

The 571st Legacy Room contains unit photos, plaques, decor, patches, uniforms, and other memorabilia.
