We are happy to announce that the
15th Biennial Gathering and AGM of the
NOLAN CLAN - CLANN NUALLÁIN
will be held on 13th September 2025
at the Seven Oaks Hotel, Carlow.
This year's Gathering Theme is the Nolan / Nualláin landscape before 1600 CE. We will visit several locations evoking that world. A fascinating series of sites, especially when seen as the context of Gaelic Nolan - Nualláin history.

Friday 12 September
19:00-20:30 - Informal greetings in the Lobby of the Seven Oaks Hotel.
Saturday 13 September
9:30 - ASSEMBLE IN THE SEVEN OAKS HOTEL LOBBY
The historic landmarks we will visit include:
1 - Ballyloughan Castle (This is located on private property and access needs to be confirmed.)
2 - Ballymoon Castle
3 - Aghade Holed Stone
4 - Rathgall Hillfort
5 - Haroldstown Dolmen Site
13:30 LUNCH BREAK - The Green Lemon Cafe, Rathvilly
To save time we will preorder soup and sandwiches at the cafe.
Fiona McGrath Brennan, a member of the Rathvilly Heritage Group, will guide us to St Patricks Baptismal Well. According to locals, St Patrick baptised Leinster King Crimthann along with his wife and child at this spring around 450 CE. (This is located on private property and access needs to be confirmed. Also, there may be mobility issues at this site for some.) Closer to the road, we will visit the Rathvilly Moat, site of Leinster King Crimthann's residence. There is an impressive mural of this baptism in St Patrick's Church in Rathvilly Village.
7 - Clonmore Castle (if time allows)
8 - Ducketts Grove Burial Grounds
Where we will be joined by Anthony Joyce who has restored this small graveyard of the Duckett Family.
6 - Brownshill Dolmen (if time allows)
We will verify timing and access to these sites by 12 September. We will endeavor to return to the Seven Oaks Hotel by 16:00.
Our AGM and Gathering Banquet is scheduled for 19:00. Details to follow in mid-August.
BANQUET KEYNOTE SPEAKER:
David B Nolan Sr and his wife Cheri will be our Keynote Speakers. David will present a short perspective of Nolan contributions and sacrifices in military contexts. Together they will discuss their experiences during the Ronald Reagan Administration where they were one of only two couples to serve simultaneously on the White House staff.
The Seven Oaks Hotel requests that room reservations be confirmed before 12 August 2025 to avail of the special group rate.
We request anyone who has not yet confirmed their intention to join us on the tour and/or the AGM Dinner to please do so before 12 August so that we can confirm the size of the group to the transportation coordinator and the hotel banquet manager.
Please notify us of any special mobility or dietary requirements. We will make every effort to accommodate them.
This tour will involve walking on short gravel trails. We request appropriate footwear and clothing.
Fees and other charges:
On the day of the event we request a 25 euro cash dues payment per person for 2025 Nolan Clan Annual Membership along with a Membership Renewal Form.
Hotel or other lodging charges (if any) are to be reserved and paid for directly by Clan Members.
The AGM Dinner charge will be 45 euro per person (wine and service gratuity included). A cash bar will also be available.
Details on the Membership Form, the dinner menu, and any other matters will be circulated in mid August.
