BELLYDANCE WORKSHOPS WITH MARIJA

" Marija began her bellydance journey at the age of 12 in Latvia and it soon became her absolute passion. Having moved to Nottingham, she continued to train and promote this beautiful art form, creating a well respected name for herself. Her aim is to bring the wonderful world of bellydance to as many people as possible and now a full time teacher, performer and event organiser. She often competes on the European Dance Festival circuit and is an award winning bellydancer. She hosts her own festival Hips Don't Lie and brings top names to Nottingham. Marija is a powerhouse dancer, well known for her dynamic drum solos and incredible isolations and always brings joy, enthusiasm and personality to each of her classes and performances ”

* Workshop 1: ‘ ACCENTS AND ISOLATIONS; TECHNIQUES AND DRILLS TO KEEP YOUR DANCING SHARP AND PRECISE (2 hours) OPEN LEVEL
Marija is famed for your dazzling drum solos and her powerhouse isolations and in this workshop, she will share with you her tricks of the trade. She will focus on sharp precise technique, giving your moves clarity and strength as well as isolation drills to give your dancing the WOW factor.
* Workshop 2: ‘ROMANTIC AND LYRICAL POP; DANCE THROUGH EMOTION AND MOVEMENT’ 2 hours) OPEN LEVEL
In this workshops Marija will guide your through sumptuous moves, with gooey hip-work, graceful arms, travelling steps that flow and all the emotions within a romantic pop song. Take your audience on a journey and express yourself through your dancing.

SADLY TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE TO ANOTHER EVENT BUT MAY BE TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER PERSON BY MUTUAL AGREEMENT, SHOULD YOU NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE IT FOR ANY REASON.
Schedule:
10.30-doors open – chance to have a coffee or tea (included in ticket price) and a catch up
11.30- 1.30 - WORKSHOP 1
1.30- 2.30– Lunch break- buffet lunch provided and included in ticket price. Chance also to browse the bazaar and catch up with belly-dance friends
2.30- 4.30 - WORKSHOP 2
4.30- 6.15- Tea/coffee and biscuit refreshments (available 4.30- 5.00ish) and chance to browse the bazaar. Chance to sit, relax and get made up and changed whilst the room is transformed ready for Casbah Café
6.30- Doors re-open for evening event CASBAH CAFÉ SHOWCASE.
7.15pm First performance (the time may vary depending on the number of acts)
* AMPLE FREE PARKING at the venue and regular buses from Oxford to Kidlington and bus stop nearby. Also Oxford Parkway train station nearby (maps and directions upon request)
