Supporting Children with Anxiety and Emotional School Avoidance: A Parent & Carer Information Session
As a part of our Parent Support Group project, we warmly invite parents and carers to join us for an insightful and supportive session focused on anxiety in the context of school attendance and emotional school-based avoidance. Suitable for families with children aged 5 - 16 years.
The session will be led by Nicole Wareing, Clinical Mental Health Practitioner with CAMHS, alongside Angie, a parent with lived experience who has navigated the challenges of supporting a child with SEND and mental health difficulties. Angie brings her perspective as a peer support work for CAMHS.
Together, Nicole and Angie will share:
Real-life experiences of managing school-related anxiety
Practical strategies to support children and young people
Guidance on accessing help and resources
This is a safe and welcoming space for parents and carers to learn, connect, and feel empowered.
St Mary's Church Refectory (the room behind the main church building)
