This workshop is time and space for you. It's a delicious interruption to all you do in a single day, much less a week. This is your time to explore and create and play: You'll connect to your inner creative self as you explore the ancient art of weaving and learn how to create something from natural foraged material.
We'll be using the very magical Bungalow Palm inflorescences. I'll walk you through the foraging and harvesting of the material and then how to prepare it for weaving. And finally, we'll explore basketry and random weave techniques so set you off on a journey of personal discovery.
Your piece will be woven around a glass vase (yep I supply that too) so your sculpture will end up being a stunning table piece ready for any festivities. This vase can then hold a candle, or fairy lights and depending on how we weave, might even be a great wall piece.
Heading home you will have created a sculptural piece you created using your hands, your imagination and your ancestral memories.
