Cojournal Miniparty

We writers are an odd bunch.

On the one hand, we like our time alone. On the other hand, we can't get new ideas that way. Not really. I don't think Chat GBT counts. A recent MIT Management school article online said it turns things general, which we all know is not what smartly used creative time will generate.

The problem then is, how to make our very scarce non-art time and non-family time and non-work-for-money time helpful for us in some way. 'Socializing' so that we learn and grow, not just meet for the sake of meeting.

So, while it is a well-known reality that most serious writers work alone, here is an idea. What if we write, together? I know you want to be alone with your notes, pages, and optimized routines. Work, sleep, eat, work some more: I know people like you and me simply want to make something that people will care about, and all of this takes... Focus.

But what happens when we get so focused we lose sight of the real goal of writing: to connect with others. We can get too lost in our notebooks and miss the chance encounters that lead to synchronicity and invention, the latter of which is the output of all good creative effort. I feel this way, anyway.

So I made Cojournal in January to invite, and include, a few of us (4) to work together in small groups, getting together when we can, in person, too. Curious about Cojournal? Come say hi.
