Public Sea Turtle Release

JOIN us for a Public Sea Turtle Release THIS Thursday, July 17th at Higg’s Beach in Key West (behind Salute’ restaurant)! Bring your family and friends to help cheer for “Lefty”, a juvenile green sea turtle returning to his ocean home! Lefty was found floating with a heavy tumor load and missing a front flipper off Summerland Key in early March. Lefty was treated at The Turtle Hospital for fibropapillomatosis. Treatment included tumor removal surgeries, an enucleation, wound care, antibiotics, fluids, and vitamins. Lefty is back to good health and ready to return to sea! The Turtle Hospital ambulance will arrive at Higg’s beach with the marine turtle at 11:45 a.m. with release at 12:00 p.m. See you there!
