Author Brian Schaefer

Brian Schaefer is a California-raised, New York-based novelist and journalist. His debut novel, TOWN & COUNTRY, was published in November by Simon & Schuster. He contributes regularly to The New York Times and has written for The New Yorker, New York magazine, Bloomberg/Businessweek, Haaretz, Dance Magazine and more. He is a recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in Arts Journalism, a finalist for the Livingston Award for International Reporting, and a longtime scholar-in-residence at the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. He holds a degree in dance from the University of California, San Diego and earned his master’s degree in creative writing from Bar-Ilan University in Tel Aviv. @itsBrianSchaefer
