About the event

Masters’ Week
Masters’ Week is a unique learning experience each and every year where we bring together a group of talented speakers to share on a range of topics. Our four day program will feature 4 phenomenal clinicians and educators presenting four incredible topics. In classic Pankey style the experience, education and community will make this a program not to be missed. Master’s Week has a special place in the hearts and minds of many Pankey Alumni. This is an incredible program led by some of the greatest educators in dentistry. Join us in the pursuit of excellence in mastering some of the latest topics in dentistry.

Meet The Presenters & Their Topics:

Gary DeWood, DDS – The 4 Riddles

THE PRESENT RIDDLE - THE TECHNICAL RIDDLE - THE BEHAVIORAL RIDDLE -THE FINANCIAL RIDDLE

Solve these 4 riddles and people will seek you out. The present riddle is what they bring with them; the technical riddle solves their problem; the behavioral riddle helps them experience and ask for their best solution; the financial riddle ensures that they WANT to pay you. These riddles will help you experience success in your restorative dental practice. Successful dental practices have a happy dentist.

Learning Objectives:

• Recognize what data is necessary to evaluate and diagnose what people have

• See an optimal plan for the data observed, measured, imaged, and scanned

• Engage the people who come to you wherever they are in their process

• Plan, monitor, and achieve financial success

Lee Ann Brady, DMD – Clinical Conversations: A Live Learning Experience

In classic Pankey fashion, Dr. Lee Ann Brady brings her trusted, relationship-based approach to this interactive session—where you help shape the conversation. Whether you’re seeking insight on complex cases, materials, occlusion, patient communication, treatment planning, or practice philosophy, this session is designed to be exactly what you need, when you need it.

The goal is to offer practical, actionable guidance on the issues that matter most to you. Through open dialogue, case examples, and live discussion, you’ll leave this session feeling seen, heard, and better equipped to return to your practice with clarity and confidence.

Wael Garine, DDS – The Big Mac Theory - A Collection of Treatment Planning Challenges and Dental Pearls

Comprehensive and interdisciplinary treatment planning is the backbone of predictable and sustainable dental outcome. This presentation involves open discussions about treatment planning for challenging dental situations that are relevant in the daily life of a dental practice. During the presentation, attendees will be encouraged to participate in the deliberation and to share dental pearls.

Learning Objectives:
• Present clinically relevant topics in the dental practice to improve predictability & efficiency
• Review new workflow trends in dentistry
• Discuss cases with varying degrees of success

George Mandelaris, DDS, MS, FACD, FICD – Surgically Facilitated Orthodontic Therapy: An Interdisciplinary Approach

Patients seeking ideal esthetics may require a more sophisticated diagnosis and treatment plan than what restorative dentistry or conventional orthodontic treatment may offer alone. In order to optimize esthetics and function, patients may choose to have the interdisciplinary team utilize orthognathic surgery and surgically facilitated orthodontic therapy (SFOT) to optimize conditions for homeostasis of the periodontal tissues and balance of dentofacial disharmonies. Surgical, orthodontic and restorative perspectives will be presented from a tooth-tooth, tooth-jaw, jaw-jaw and jaws-face context to challenge the IDT team to move beyond traditional therapies into a new frontier for enhanced outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

• To appreciate the limitations of restorative dentistry and conventional orthodontics in treating the patient with esthetic dental needs.

• To review IDT diagnostic modalities critical to treatment planning of the interdisciplinary patient requiring restorative, orthodontic, periodontal surgery

• To discuss the role of SFOT in phenotype modification therapy and in the management of dental and skeletal malocclusions

• To present how SFOT can complement interdisciplinary treatment, ultimately ensuring esthetic and functional outcome success for the restorative specialist.

• To demonstrate the role of SFOT in decompensating different dentofacial disharmony skeletal malocclusion patterns for phenotype modification, leading to (or not) orthognathic surgery.
