Our League's 2-Year Anniversary - BACKDRAFT TOURNAMENT!!!

For Key West TCG League’s 2nd Birthday Celebration, we will be holding a MTG-inspired “Backdraft” tournament, where every player will bring in a “bad” deck of 60 cards. At the start of the tournament, players will trade decks with their Round 1 opponents, and proceed to use the deck they received for the remainder of the tournament.

The goal is to build a bad deck, not a good deck that is simply challenging to play (i.e. Lost Box, Gardi, etc) This is intended to be lighthearted and fun, so please stick to the spirit of that.

Deck Construction Requirements:

Players are encouraged to express their creativity with these decks, and may use any cards available in the current standard format (G Block and newer), with the following constraints:


Pokémon:
• Every deck must include at least 8 basic Pokémon
• All evolution Pokémon must have their pre-evolutions included or have an in-deck way of getting into play (i.e. Gengar LOR 166, Zoroark EVS 103)


Trainers:
• Decks cannot include trainer cards correlating to energy or Pokémon types not included in the deck (i.e. you can’t include Irida (ASR 147) in a deck with no water type Pokémon. You can’t include Moonlit Hill (PAF 081) in a deck with no psychic energy)


Energies:
• Decks may not include more than 25 basic energies
• All energies must corelate to the types required to pay for attack costs of the Pokémon in the Deck.
