Join Silent Wake for a guided Kayak Sampler on the scenic Milwaukee River — a short and enjoyable introduction to kayaking in one of Wisconsin’s most beautiful urban-natural waterways. Total river trip distance 2 miles.
What is the Kayak Sampler?
This Kayak Sampler is a one hour guided experience designed for beginners or those looking to get back on the water without a major time commitment. Whether you’re brand new to kayaking or just curious about our river trips, this is a great way to dip your paddle in and see what it’s all about.
Schedule: 3 Opportunities to Join on Aug 9, 2025
Choose the time that works best for you:
Session 1: 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM
Session 2: 11:30 PM –12:45 PM
Session 3: 1:00 PM – 2:15 PM
Each session includes: Fitting you for kayak and life jacket, a short intro of paddling on land, assisted launch and landings, guided paddling time on the water, and a chance to explore a calm, ADA accessible stretch of the Milwaukee River.
What's Included:
Single sit-in kayak
Paddle & life jacket (PFD)
Basic paddling instruction
Friendly, experienced guides on the water with you
A safe, relaxed environment to try kayaking
What to Bring:
Water bottle
Sunscreen
Hat & sunglasses
Water-friendly shoes
Dry clothes/towel (optional, leave in car- just in case)

First-time paddlers
Families and friends (yes, we have a limited supply of youth kayaks/gear)
Anyone interested in future river trips or lessons with Silent Wake
Cost & Registration:
$35 per/person Maximum of 10 people per session. A portion of the proceeds will be donated back to the Kewaskum Friends of Parks.
Advance registration required — space is limited for each session to ensure a quality experience. No walk-on’s for this event.
