About the event

150th Anniversary Kickoff Event

As part of the anniversary kickoff, a special ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Laatsch’s Piggly Wiggly.

The event will officially kick off with a tribute to third-generation owners Harold “Mixie” and Eleanor Marx, who took over the business in 1956. A significant highlight of their ownership was the grand opening of a new IGA Foodliner on Mixie’s birthday, January 24, 1962.

Join us for a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by cake, cookies, and coffee. The first 150 customers following our special event will receive a free bag of groceries.
