MEETUP LOCATION: Keswick Leisure Centre, Station Rd, Keswick CA12 4NE (or free on street parking on Brundholme Road)
ADVANCED GRADING: red/black (the black bits are short and walkable)
Helmets mandatory, Kneepads strongly recommended.
DISTANCE: apx. 20km
This is a short, but tough ride. Most people will be pushing their bikes to the top, but the views and descents more than make up for it. The guides are on analogue bikes, so a note to Ebikers - bring a large picnic, deck of cards, frisbee to occupy yourselves while you wait for the rest of us.
There are no cafes on the route, so bring plenty of snacks. Mandatory cafe stop at the end of the ride in Keswick, or Peter will sulk.
We will cancel or postpone if the weather is rubbish, or we'll change this to a low level ride.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Suitable clothing including wet weather protection and a spare warm layer, spare inner tubes / patches, chain links, lube, enough food and water for the duration of the ride - energy drinks, energy bars, bananas, clif bars, fruit malt loaf etc.
