Pottery Lessons: Wheel-Throwing (7 Weeks)

This seven-week class is suitable for anyone (12 & up) with an eagerness to learn. Both new beginners and those with experience are welcome! Small class size means that each person has their own wheel to use. We focus on the basics of throwing on the potter’s wheel; centering the clay, opening the base, and pulling walls. You will learn how to trim your pieces of excess clay. As well, we'll cover several different decorative techniques, and a little hand-building. In the last class, you will glaze your work, choosing from 6 different glazes. Your finished pieces may be picked up at a later date. Those with some experience can delve further into shaping the clay and honing their skills. Be prepared for a challenge! Wheel-throwing is more difficult than anyone expects.
