Join BackTrails & Canoe Kayak New Brunswick as we celebrate paddlers in our capital region. Our goal with this event is to get folks familiar with other paddlers in the area and explore our beautiful waterways together.

Kayak & Paddle
PFD (must be worn at all times)*
Bailing Device (bilge pump, sponge...etc)*
50' of floating rope*
Quick drying clothing

Change of clothes for after paddle
All participants should know how to swim and manage themselves on a body of moving water. Footwear is encouraged, but flip-flops are not recommended. Don't be that barefoot person.
The plan is to park at the Douglas launch at 1312 Off Highway 105 in Douglas where we'll have everyone sign waivers from CKNB and have a quick safety briefing. We'll put in at the boat launch into the Wolastoq. We'll paddle upstream to the mouth of the Keswick, where we'll paddle between Keswick Island & Sugar Island, regroup, and paddle back to our launch point. Approximately 1.5 hours. Everyone is then invited to join us at Mama's Brew Pub for a social hour post-paddle.
No alcohol will be permitted while on the water.
This event will occur rain or shine. Pre-registration is not necessary, though we'd appreciate an RSVP to gauge numbers.
Cancellation of the event will only occur in the event of high winds and/or thunderstorms.
