June Hike: Gertrude's Nose!

Join the Holy Hikers! for our June hike to Gertrude's Nose! Gertrude's Nose is a 6.7 mile, challenging loop trail located in the beautiful Minnewaska State Park. (Check out: https://hikethehudsonvalley.com/.../minnewaska-ii.../)

PARKING
We will meeting at the UPPER AWOSTING parking lot near the Visitor Center by Lake Minnewaska. When you arrive at the gate for the park, a $10 parking fee is charged at the gatehouse per vehicle. Turn left just past the gatehouse and continue uphill for 0.4 mile to the parking area at Lake Minnewaska. (Parking lot, 5281 Route 44-55, Kerhonkson, NY 12446) In the event that the upper lot is full, it would simply be walking 0.4 mile up from the lower lot to the Visitor Center after arriving.

FEE
$10 per vehicle at the guard shack. Park opens at 9 am. We'll begin hiking at 9:15 am. The trailhead is by the Visitor Center. Carpooling is encouraged.

WHAT TO BRING
A backpack with at least 2L water, lunch, rosary, snacks, and a sense of adventure!

TIME OF HIKE
Our estimated end time is 1:30 pm, but flexibility is needed due to pacing, etc. We'll be stopping to pray the Rosary along the way, as well as the Prayer to St. Gertrude for the Holy Souls; it will be the feast day of St. Aloysius Gonzaga.
