Plants and Pollinators at Mary Olson Farm

Pollinators are essential for backyard gardening, as well as agricultural food production. In addition to supporting your garden, native pollinators provide many other benefits in urban and suburban ecosystems. Visit Mary Olson Farm for their open house day and learn how to support pollinators, even in your community garden or small backyard garden plot.

This event is a family friendly self guided tour. Come any time during the event and visit with experts at several stations around the farm to learn about:

• How native plants and natural landscapes support native pollinators
• Identifying native plants
• Creating a pollinator garden
• Different pollinators and other insects you may see in your garden
• Meet a beekeeper and his honeybees to learn all about beekeeping!

You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch, or hang out and enjoy Mary Olson Farm. Please note that participants will have to walk over a small hill to get into the farm from the parking area.
