About Miriam:
At just two years old, I immigrated to the U.S. with my parents, and I quickly became their guide through the complexities of a new educational system. Years later, as a parent myself, I recognized the same challenges in other families' youth, feeling lost and pressured, parents relying on their children to navigate systems they didn’t fully understand. Seeing these inequities firsthand ignited my passion for supporting underrepresented youth and families, helping them reach their fullest potential.
With over ten years of experience working with youth, I now serve as the Workforce Readiness Director at the Boys & Girls Club of Benton and Franklin Counties, leading a program that equips teens with the skills, confidence, and resources they need to succeed in school, careers, and life. My degree in Human Development from Washington State University (Go Cougs) has strengthened my ability to advocate for equitable opportunities, empowering young people and their families to achieve self-sustainability and improve social mobility.
Every day, I combine my personal experience, professional expertise, and educational foundation to create meaningful pathways for youth to thrive and reach their highest potential.
