Kennesaw is updating its rules on Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), and your voice matters. These are small homes on the same lot as a main house or above the garage.
But the city’s proposed rules add a lot of restrictions:
– You’d have to give up your right to ever rent out your main house
– You’d face extra fees, parking rules, and large setbacks
– And strangely, you can’t build one if your next-door neighbor already has one
We’re encouraging everyone to attend — all three town halls if you can — and speak up for simpler, fairer rules that respect homeowners and support families and older adults who want to age in place.
📍 Town Hall Dates:
• July 9 @ 6:30 PM – City Council Chambers
• July 23 @ 6:30 PM – Ben Robertson Community Center
• August 13 @ 6:30 PM – Ben Robertson Community Center
