Art & Science Wonder Camp (ages 9-14 yr.)

Art Science Wonder Camp merges art and science into a week-long exploration, enhancing scientific discussions through artwork. This approach aids children in grasping intricate scientific ideas while also exposing them to artistic skills and techniques in an engaging way.

Each camp day will include a science lesson, art instruction with a variety of quality materials and techniques, and time to work on and complete the day's art project. Time will also be provided for snacks, socialization, to peruse selected science-specific books, hands-on discovery of scientific specimens, and/or additional time for open-ended art.

Topics this week include: Natural History & Scientific Illustration, Reptile & Amphibian Skin Patterns, Biofluorescence & Luminescence (glow art!), Thermal Imaging Drawings, and more.

It's recommended for students to bring a sketchbook with them to camp this week, to keep all of their artwork in one spot. Paper will be provided for those who come without one. Students should also pack water and a snack.
