Step Right Up! Kennebunk Land Trust Hosts Carnival Fundraiser for Alewive Accessible Trail! All are welcome to this outdoor event to raise funds and play games.
Enjoy a snack, make nature wreath, build a fairy house, hit the bullseye, win prizes, see animal displays, and much more!
Donations are suggested for carnival tickets and games. Parking can be found at Rogers Pond, or along Water Street.
Grab your friends, bring the kids, and get ready for an afternoon of fun! This family-friendly celebration will be packed with classic carnival games, hands-on nature crafts, nature displays, and information about the new Accessible Trail and why an inclusive nature experience is so important as a resource in our town. And don’t forget your camera, KLT’s very own Scamper the Squirrel mascot will be making appearances, ready for hugs, high-fives, and plenty of selfies
Carnival Highlights:
• Fun-for-all carnival games with prizes
• Nature craft stations for kids (and grown-ups, too!)
• Nature displays showcasing local wildlife
• Selfies with the Scamper the KLT Squirrel!
All proceeds from the carnival and donations at the event will directly fund the construction of KLT’s Accessible Trail at Alewive Woods Preserve, off of Cole Road in Kennebunk.
The trail is intentionally built to be wide, flat, and stable, with gentle inclines. This thoughtful design ensures that more people, whether using a wheelchair, stroller, walker, or simply looking for a comfortable way to experience nature, can enjoy the outdoors in a safe and welcoming way. The trail will also feature inclusive benches and picnic tables, clear and informative signage, and handicap accessible parking, among other amenities.
Event Details:
• Date: September 13th, 2025.
• Time: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
