A Story of Books!

Local bibliophile Jake Landry will be at the Kennebunk Free Library on Tuesday, October 14 at 6:00 p.m. to tell “A Story of Books.”

Landry will discuss how books evolved from papyrus scrolls to today’s paged book, with a brief discussion of e-books. Landry will share a treasure from his collection – the page of a book that was printed in 1491. He will invite the audience to compare their interpretation of a line of a book printed in about 550 and compare it to interpretations at the time it was printed.

Jake Landry, originally from New Bedford, MA, is a graduate of Montclair State College, NJ. He served with the U. S. Army in Vietnam and later worked with Corporate Communications at Travelers in Hartford, CT.
