Saint Edward State Park Restoration Work Party

Overview:

On August 11th from 10am-1pm, join us for a day filled with fun at Saint Edward

State Park! Saint Edward State Park is full of flora, fauna, and history. Over the years,

visitation has increased greatly, and the park needs volunteer help now more than ever. Our “Playground Among the Trees”, better known as The Saint Edward Playground, was

designed by local community members and built nearly 25 years ago. To ensure that this

space is safe to enjoy for future generations, annual resealing with Linseed oil is required

and volunteer support goes a long way. This work party, volunteers will join State Park staff

in yearly playground resealing with containers of linseed oil and paint brush application.

Our event is best suited for ages 8 and older, and no experience is required. The work party

will take place in the rain or shine. This event is brought to you by Friends of Saint Edward

State Park, University of Washington Collaborative for Socio-Ecological Engagement, and

Washington State Parks.

Where to Meet:

We will meet at the designated volunteer parking area on the south lawn (no Discover Pass

required for volunteers). Take NE 145th towards the park and turn left after the ball field.

Follow Volunteer Parking signs down the road towards the playground and continue just

around the corner past the playground (please see attached map).
