Vetala and Galvin will talk about visual storytelling and demonstrate using Nanlite RGB lighting tools. We will talk about motivated lighting and how to add to your storytelling using the full color options available to photographers and videographers today. We will demonstrate in studio, techniques that can be applied to location, to add story and value to your work. Bring your cameras and questions because this is going to be fun.

About your Instructors

Galvin Collins: (he/him) entered the business of image creation almost 20 years ago after completing his bachelor's degree in Digital Film and Video Production. As is often the case, upon completing higher education, he discovered that he was right back in school learning the practical applications of all he had learned. Galvin spent the next 15 years as a freelancer, learning and working on all manner of projects. These varied from stop motion feature films (Set Photographer/ BTS Documentarian), commercial video production (mostly as a 1st AC), feature films (1st AC), and commercial photography (Lead Photo Assistant). This wide variety of experience is often drawn upon in his current role as Regional Business Manager for the Mac Group, where he represents Nanlite and 20 other exciting photographic brands. Demonstrating creative lighting and working with visual storytellers is the highlight of his work and he looks forward to working with all the attendees!

Vetala Hawkins: (he/him), a seasoned photographer with over 2 decades of experience, specializes in creating unique portraiture. His lens captures individuals in studio or against scenic backdrops, revealing their authenticity and character. Vetala’s dedication to storytelling through portraits resonates with clients and viewers alike. Whether it’s the energy of corporate events or the everyday moments that define life, Vetala’s work is a testament to the power of portraiture.
