Something a bit different!
The priory theatre has a history spanning over 90 years! It is an amateur theatre building located in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, England. The Little Theatre has 120 seats in a circle and stall layout.
The Theatre opened on 8 April 1946. The original company was named the ‘Kenilworth Players’ in 1932.’ But, due to the outbreak of World War II, it only lasted until 1939.
Seven years later, the theatre doors re-opened on 8 April 1946 with a full production taking to the stage.
Interesting to know.
Constructed in 1816, the disused chapel was repurposed as ‘The Theatre’. However, remnants of the church can still be seen today.
On 4 September 1976, a fire broke out and gutted the main section of the Theatre. After thirty years of hard work, everything was destroyed. Despite the setback, the members were not deterred and immediately set about rebuilding. They poured their hearts and souls into the project, significantly enhancing all areas of the theatre, including the backstage areas.
Finally, on 28 September 1978, a mere two years later, their hard work and dedication paid off as they proudly reopened the theatre doors to the public.
Ghost Stories
The theatre staff has witnessed ghostly apparitions, poltergeist activity, and extreme cold spots in certain areas. Our medium saw a full apparition of a woman walk out of the dressing rooms and down the stairs!
But what spirits continue to take centre stage?
Are stories hidden within the walls of this historic building?
Join us for this different type of investigation as we attempt to communicate to spirits through seances, investigation experiments, and other means!
