The Helm Open Day

Join landscape charity Friends of the Lake District for a family friendly Open Day at their land at the Helm - the hill above Oxenholme, on Saturday 5 July.

Based at the Station Inn, near Oxenholme Train Station, when you can join in with fun crafts and sign up for the activities happening on the Helm nearby. Join our land manager for guided walks on the hill or try out your conservation skills in a volunteer workparty session. Meet the fell pony sessions available through the day.

Storyteller Rachel Pugh will transport you across the Cumbrian landscape where Friends of the Lake District work with her land-tastic tales. They will make you laugh and perhaps even scare you a little...

Take part in your own adventure with a scavenger hunt to find the key cultural and environmental treasures that cover the Helm.
