The North Cascades

06:30 Meet at the Chevron at 2491 Highway 97 and departing shortly thereafter.

Dropping down highway 33 and west on 3 crossing at Oroville into WA.

Probably just head down 97 to Omak, 97 Alternate to Okanogan and 20 out to Newhalem.

The distance between gas in Mazama to Newhalem and back is around 200 kilometres.

This is mostly spirited riding. It’s also a longer day, but probably sub-900 kilometres.

Lunch is not a given but if it’s hot, it might be beneficial to take advantage of some air conditioning for an hour.

This ride is suitable for sport touring, ADV touring, and similar bikes. Use your best judgment. There may be some spicey passing, but done safely. I don’t plan on getting on radar on this ride, nor do I want to upset the traffic column as we are coming back the same way we went.

It’s a 12 hour’ish day.
